One of the most historically significant spots in Westman. This is where Metis buffalo hunters
crossed the river on the way to the Souris Plains and beyond. This is where steamboats fromWinnipeg
unloaded cargo for the region. This was the barrier that had to be crossed before the S.S. Marquette
was able to go upriver to Fort Ellice in 1879.
